Terra takes roles in regenerative agriculture firms in the East and West

Terra has taken on roles supporting three regenerative agriculture companies spanning Asia and Latin America: HUSK, Sow&Reap and Ruuts.

We're glad to share that Terra has taken on roles supporting three regenerative agriculture companies, spanning Asia in the East and Latin America in the West: HUSK, Sow&Reap and Ruuts.

In the East, HUSK develops, manufactures and markets biochar-based products for farmers in Cambodia and Vietnam, with offices in Singapore and Spain. It diverts rice husk, a milling residue normally burned in the open, into biochar and biochar-based fertilisers through a smokeless pyrolysis process installed inside a rice mill, helping smallholders hold moisture and nutrients in degraded tropical soils.

Also in the East, Sow&Reap is an Indian climate technology company that develops and runs land-based carbon projects with farming communities across six states. Its work spans climate-smart paddy cultivation, biogas for households and industry, restoration through agroforestry, and carbon removal through biochar, with its own platform combining satellite imagery, field evidence and farmer records to measure outcomes.

In the West, Ruuts works with livestock farmers across Latin America to move grazing land from conventional to regenerative management and engage in revegetation practices. Based in Argentina, it runs programmes in Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Brazil, spanning Patagonian rangeland and the Brazilian Cerrado, with more than a million hectares in transition. Farmers are supported by a field network of agronomists and technicians and by a training programme, the Regeneration School, while soil sampling and recognised models, including the Verra VM0042 and VM0047 methodologies, are used to track carbon, soil and biodiversity outcomes over time.

Three companies, two continents, one aim: giving farming communities the tools and the financing to make regenerative practice pay for itself.

Reframing Climate Action: How Narratives Shape the Future We Create

In Davos alongside the World Economic Forum, Terra Dialogue, our sister non-profit organization, co-hosted a session at the Climate Hub Davos that went straight to the heart of a question we care deeply about: Why do we know so much about climate change — and still struggle to act at scale? Renat Heuberger opened […]
